Nigerian College of Administration is statutorily recognized as the official professional education and training school for the professional examination courses of the Chartered Institute of Administration.  This recognition is contained in the Chartered Institute of Administration Regulations published in the Federal Republic of Nigeria official Gazette No. 28 Vol. 84 of 25th April, 1997

Section 4(a) of the Regulation further  provides that a person shall be eligible for admission as a member of the institute if he is a graduate of the Nigeria College of Administration and completes the period of practical experience as may be prescribed from time to time by the Council.

Study Period
Duration is 6 months for holders of qualifications in business-related disciplines; or 9 months for others.

Course Calender
Nigerian College of Administration offers courses available on part time and distance study for Chartered Administrators Professional Examination; and Diploma in Business Studies; Commencing in January, May, and September each year; as outlined below. 

Application for admission may, however, be made at any time in the year but students must commence their courses on one of the commencing dates specified above, and ensure that they complete all admission requirements including payments of course fees well ahead of the chosen commencing date. Students are allowed one or two weeks short break after the first session, an about three weeks holidays after the second session. Exact dates are announced as and when necessary.

In Addition the College observes all federal Government approved holidays, although in some cases students may be required to report for special lectures during holidays as part of intensive examination practice. Full time students maybe required to attend classes on week-ends when necessary.

The college does not provide hostel facilities for the students at the present time. This may be introduced in the near future. In the meantime, students who require hostel should make their own arrangement.

This procedure takes place immediately you receive a letter of admission and involves paying the tuition fees before the course commences. Thereafter, the college will confirm the admission and allocate student registration number which the student must quote in all correspondence with the college.


Courses Offered

This is a Pre-professional and Pre-Degree program with a duration of three semesters. It qualifies successful Diplomates to be eligible for admission into the 200-level of Bachelor’s Degree in Business-related disciplines of the Universities; as well as for admission direct to the Operational Level of Chartered Administrators Professional Examination.

Entry Requirement
Senior School Certificate or equivalents with five credits including English Language and Mathematics obtained at two sittings.
Candidates who do not have complete credit passes are considered for provisional admission on the condition that they will make up their entry deficiencies before completing the course.



This program leads to the following awards of Chartered Institute of Administration.
(a) Chartered Administrators Professional Examination Certificate
(b) Associate Professional Membership Certificate (ACIA)
(c) Chartered Administrators Professional Practicing License

Entry Requirement
Any of the following qualifications in any discipline will be accepted: Degree, HND, Professional Examination Certificate, Diploma, or equivalent.

Holders of Degree or HND in Business Administration and Management will be exempted from all subjects of Fundamentals and Operational, Levels; in addition to Human Resource management and Organizational Management in Management Level

Subject-to-Subject exemptions on the Fundamentals, Operational, and Management Levels may, at the discretion of the Governing Council, be awarded to holders of other qualifications which indicate sufficient coverage of Institute’s syllabus.

The minimum duration for completing all levels of the Professional Examination, where no exemptions are awarded, is four semesters. Where exemptions are granted from all subjects of Fundamentals, Operational, and Management Levels, the candidate will require a short duration of only one semester to complete the Final Strategic Level.


Application form is obtainable with the sum of N5,000 for Chartered Administrators Professional Examination course, or N4,000 for Diploma in Business Studies. Payment is by direct cash deposit into the bank account of Nigerian College of Administration with First Bank (A/C No. 2018190845), or Zenith Bank (A/C No. 1010223085). The bank deposit slip should be sent to us for further processing.

Candidates are required to complete the processing of their admissions, including payment of tuition fees, at least two weeks before each program commences.

Membership of our Institute can be gained only by passing the institute’s professional membership qualifying examination the ACIA and fulfilling the practical experience requirement.


Diploma in Business Studies (DBS)

Its Objective is to develop fundamental knowledge in the theory and practice of general business organization, the Nigeria business organization, and the functional areas of business organization


ACIA Professional Certificate

Its objectives are to:

  1. Train Chartered Administrators for entitites in manufacturing, commercial or service organizations, in the public or private sector of the economy
  2. To examine whether prospective members have an adequate knowledge, understanding and mastery of the stated body of knowledge or skills
  3. To complement the institute's practical experience requirements
